Our full 6 & 9-A-Side guide can be found here

The largest reason people opt in to play 6 or 9-A-Side is due to population size within your city or town. With less players needed to make a roster, it allows for smaller communities to be able to play competitive tackle football.  On top of this, Football Canada in their Long-Term Athlete Development plan recommend that players should only move on to 12-A-Side contact at the U14 age level, before that, they recommend non-contact variants or 6 & 9-A-Side. Larger clubs within cities are adapting to this style of football to allow each player to have more touches, tackles, and points which can be used to increase individual player skill and versatility.
